Psilocybe cubensis var. A+ has been a strong and popular magic mushroom cultivar for years. This psilocybin producing mushroom strain has be studied to sporulate heavily under prolific fruiting. A leucistic mutation that is present in this strain has been isolated as Albino A+, and is popular as well. It is not considered a true albino because while the mutation creates fruit with almost no pigmentation at maturity, the spores do not lose their dark coloration. Spore Strain Origin

A+ magic mushrooms were originally developed by well known mushroom breeder, “Mr. G.” It is not confirmed that he originally created this strain, or if it was a stabilized strain that originated from South America or Southeast Asia.

A+ in the Wild

This psilocybin producing mushroom was lab created and as popular as it is in the mycology world, has yet to be confirmed growing in the wild. It prefers tropical to subtropical environmental conditions.

Mushroom Spore Features

A+ spores are sub-ellipsoid (egg-shaped) and dark brown to deep purple, and found in heavy and dense spore prints. Mature fruit can present concave imperfections on golden to cream caps, on slender white stipes.
