“Burma” was originally found growing on buffalo dung in the Southeast Asian region of Burma, now known as Myanmar.
This Cubensis variety was presented to mycologist John Allen (AKA “Mushroom John Allen”) by a Thai student who spent time collecting specimens around the city of Rangoon.
A rapid colonizer, Burma, produces fruits of various sizes, ranging from medium to exceptionally large. Its caps present different shades of brown, fading with maturity, and stems that are both tall and dense.
