This psilocybin producing magic mushroom is found growing on dung in Eucalyptus forests in Tasmania and southeastern Australia.
Tasmanian spores are ellipsoid or sub-ellipsoid to subovate in shape and dark brownish to yellow. They have thick walls and a broad apical germ spores situated at one end. Tasmanian spore prints can be large and dense, providing an abundant source for microscopy research.
