Turkey Tail, or Trametes Versicolor, is a beautiful, multi-colored medicinal mushroom named for its concentric brown and tan rings, resembling the tail feathers of a turkey. Trametes Versicolor is one of the most well-researched, widely used mushrooms for its potential health benefits, and can be found growing on dead logs around the world. Studies have shown promising evidence that Turkey Tail may stimulate cytokine production which can boost immune function by increasing NK cells in the body. NK or “natural killer” cells kill tumor cells as well as cells infected by viruses.
