Z Strain magic mushrooms do not naturally occur in the wild, and are a cultivated variety, and a hybrid of Mazatapec cubensis and Thai Lipa Yai cubensis.

Z Strain magic mushroom spores are dark purplish brown, and sub-ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. These spores can produce a remarkable amount of medium to large fruits, with light golden brown caps and long, dense stems.
